Pós-Graduação em Geofísica do ON tem seminário sobre aplicações da indução eletromagnética

Na quarta-feira, dia 15 de abril, o Programa de Pós-Graduação em Geofísica do Observatório Nacional (ON/MCTI) realizará uma nova edição de seu Ciclo de Seminário de interesse da comunidade geofísica.

O evento começará às 15h (horário de Brasília) no Auditório Yeda Ferraz. O coffee será às 14h30. O tema será "From Shallow to Deep: Applications of Electromagnetic Induction methods for different geological targets in Mexico". Para falar sobre o assunto foi convidado o Prof. Dr. Diego Ruiz-Aguilar, da Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México.

Título: From Shallow to Deep: Applications of Electromagnetic Induction methods for different geological targets in Mexico.

Resumo: In this talk, I will first introduce our research institute and our different research lines. Afterwards, I will show the results of different projects that we have developed during the last years in Mexico using electromagnetic inductions methods, mainly Magnetotellurics (MT) and Transient Electromagnetics (TEM). These results are derived from geothermal, groundwater, tectonic and landslides investigations. Finally, I will show the results of a magnetotelluric experiment to characterize the subsurface structures of a monogenetic volcanic field in northern Mexico using a non-conventional workflow.
