The government of Lesotho has approved the importation of poultry meat from Brazil

The Brazilian government has obtained authorization from the Kingdom of Lesotho, a southern African nation, to export poultry meat to the country.

Negotiations began in November of last year. Lesotho imports approximately 8,000 tons of poultry meat annually.

Brazil exports poultry products to 172 countries, constituting 38% of the global trade in this product. Last year, Brazil's poultry exports surpassed $9.61 billion, totaling 5 million tons.

Since the beginning of 2023, coinciding with President Lula's third term, Brazil has expanded its export markets to include 121 new agricultural products in 51 countries across five continents.

These achievements are the result of coordinated efforts between the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
