New market access for Brazilian livestock in Türkiye
The governments of Brazil and Türkiye have successfully concluded negotiations that will allow Brazil to export live cattle for breeding purposes to the Turkish market.
Between 2023 and 2024, Brazil exported approximately USD 525 million in live cattle to Türkiye for slaughter and fattening. This new market opening expands opportunities for the Brazilian livestock sector, enabling it to supply genetically superior animals to support the enhancement of Türkiye’s national herd.
During the same period, Brazil’s total agricultural exports to Türkiye reached USD 5.5 billion, with notable products including soybeans, live cattle, green coffee, cotton, and cellulose.
With this latest development, Brazilian agribusiness celebrates its 56th new market access in 2025, bringing the total to 356 new trade opportunities since the beginning of 2023.
This achievement reflects the ongoing collaboration between the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE), reaffirming Brazil’s commitment to expanding global agricultural partnerships.
