Market access in Colombia for setaria seeds

The Brazilian government is pleased to announce that Colombia has authorized the export of setaria seeds from Brazil, a forage species used for feeding beef cattle.

Known for their hardiness, setaria seeds meet the needs of producers seeking forage solutions that boost productivity and sustainability in livestock farming.

Earlier in 2024, Brazil had already secured market access in Colombia for coconut seeds and dried distiller's grains. In 2023, Colombia was a significant market, importing USD 1.3 billion worth of Brazilian agricultural products.

With this new authorization, Brazilian agribusiness has reached its 192nd market access this year, totaling 270 market opportunities across 61 destinations since early 2023.

These successes are the result of collaborative efforts between the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE).
