The Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden Finalizes Work Plan for the Implementation of the Collective Agreement
The Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden Research Institute (JBRJ) has formalized its institutional Work Plan, which outlines the implementation of the Collective Agreement signed in connection with the Land Dispute Case currently pending before the Federal Regional Court of the 2nd Region.
The document outlines the administrative, legal, and operational structure necessary to carry out the actions arising from the agreement and to manage the administrative instruments related to the properties located within the territory administered by the Institute.
The Plan establishes a structured operational model aimed at the secure, transparent, and legally sound execution of the agreed-upon measures, in accordance with the Collective Agreement and the coexistence rules established by the Federal Government, through the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic (SG/PR), the Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden Research Institute, the National Institute of Historic and Artistic Heritage (IPHAN), the Horto Residents’ Association (AMAHOR), the Municipality of Rio de Janeiro, the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office, and the Federal Public Defender’s Office.
The initiative reaffirms the Botanical Garden’s institutional commitment to the technical, responsible, and consultative management of a historically complex territorial situation existing within an environmentally protected federal public area, seeking to mitigate conflicts and promote greater stability in the management of the territory under the Institute’s responsibility.
This Work Plan provides for the organization of administrative processes, territorial monitoring mechanisms, registration systems, and monitoring tools, as well as periodic reports, active transparency, and the participation of the Collective Agreement Monitoring Committee in the relevant stages.
For the JBRJ, the formalization of the Plan represents an institutional milestone in the organization of administrative and territorial governance related to the agreement, reinforcing the Institute’s commitment to legality, transparency, environmental protection, human dignity, and responsible management of federal public assets.
