About the Event
The event is organized by Ebserh and the Brazilian Ministry of Health, aiming to train outstanding professionals in oncology research, strengthen collaborative networks across Latin America and Portuguese-speaking African Countries (PALOPs), and expand capacity for cancer research and innovation.
Workshop Objectives
- Develop skills in clinical oncology research by enhancing understanding of study design, implementation, and outcome analysis.
- Foster a sustainable and collaborative environment to discuss public health challenges and opportunities, with Ebserh serving as a reference research network.
- Strengthen South–South and North–South collaborations (Latin America, PALOPs, and India).
- Promote adherence to international ethical standards and regulatory guidelines in clinical research.
- Encourage the integration of research findings into clinical practice, focusing on feasible interventions.
Explore implementation research strategies to reduce gaps in cancer care, especially in low- and middle-income countries.
Target Audience
- Professionals with completed or ongoing training in Clinical Oncology, Radiotherapy, Surgery, Nuclear Medicine, or related fields conducting research in oncology.
Early- or mid-career researchers working in Brazil, other Latin American countries, or Portuguese-speaking African countries (PALOPs), namely: Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, São Tomé and Príncipe, and Equatorial Guinea.
Workshop Format
Protocol Development Sessions
Core sessions of the Workshop, where participants complete the writing of their research protocols with feedback from experts.
Expert Sessions
One-on-one advisory meetings with specialists focused on protocol refinement and career development.
Small Group Discussions
Focused discussions in small groups addressing key topics and specific challenges in clinical trials.
Lectures and Panels
Presentations by experts on clinical trial design and implementation, followed by panel discussions.
