The report examines the advances in generative AI and its impacts, with particular attention to personal data protection in Brazil. It also analyzes the underlying principles of the technology exploring aspects such as:
Web scraping, a practice that may involve the processing of personal data;
Generation of synthetic content that may be indistinguishable from personal data;
The relationship between personal data processing and generative AI systems.
In addition, the study addresses issues related to the LGPD’s principles and highlights real-world examples of generative AI use in Brazil, including applications in the public sector, healthcare, and financial services. These cases illustrate the significant potential of this technology.
Technology Radar is a series of publications produced by the ANPD to examine emerging technologies that may have a significant impact on the data protection landscape.
