The Program
The objective of the program is to select grantees for the Senior Visiting Professor and Junior Visiting Professor abroad modalities, aimed at the development of research activities, academic advising, teaching in courses and guest lectures, and conducting technical visits. It is intended for professors or researchers employed by Higher Education Institutions, research institutes, or research centers in Brazil, whose academic background and professional experience represent an innovative contribution.
The activities will take place at the University at Buffalo, in the United States of America, under the terms of the International Cooperation Agreement between CAPES and the University at Buffalo – University at Buffalo, The State University of New York (UB), signed on December 18, 2024.
The University at Buffalo may fund the visits of Visiting Professors from the U.S. to the home institutions of the Brazilian Visiting Professors.

Objective
I – To advance the development of joint actions that are part of programs promoting effective integration in research and teaching activities between Brazilian universities and the University at Buffalo;
II – To contribute to the establishment and maintenance of scientific exchange through the continuous training of faculty members and researchers in various research fields in Brazil;
III – To promote the professional development of faculty members affiliated with Brazilian Higher Education Institutions and research centers;
IV – To strengthen Brazilian teaching and research centers upon the return of participating researchers;
V – To increase the level of collaboration and joint publications between researchers working in Brazil and abroad by supporting the implementation of joint research projects;
VI – To expand Brazilian researchers’ access to international centers of excellence;
VII – To enhance the international visibility of Brazilian scientific, technological, and cultural production; and
VIII – To encourage the creation of partnerships and the initiation or consolidation of existing international research networks.
