Institutional Internationalization Program
Objective
The "Redes para Internacionalização Institucional – CAPES-Global.Edu" Program aims to foster the creation of cooperation networks between national institutions at various stages of internationalization. This is done to promote, through international cooperation, the development of strategic research and postgraduate activities for the participants.
The general objective is to contribute to strengthening Brazil’s international prominence and consolidating its position as a strategic partner in global initiatives, as well as promoting mutual cooperation, intercultural dialogue, and sustainable development.
Specific Objectives
I - To promote partnerships between national institutions, from different regions of the country and at different stages of internationalization, aiming at international cooperation and mutual learning with institutions from both the Global North and the Global South;
II - To encourage the construction, implementation, and consolidation of internationalization strategic plans for participating institutions, aligned with their respective Institutional Development Plans (PDI);
III - To stimulate collaboration with civil society organizations, aiming to increase institutional relevance in their contexts. This objective includes actions focused on teaching, research, extension, innovation, leadership, entrepreneurship, creative economy, economic sustainability, and social and environmental awareness;
IV - To promote opportunities for international experience, both in Brazil and abroad, for postgraduate students, researchers, faculty, and staff, aiming at the qualification of higher education professionals and increasing cooperation in teaching, research, extension, and innovation in both national and international contexts;
V - To promote a diverse, inclusive, and welcoming culture of internationalization within the participating institutions of the networks; and
VI - To encourage the improvement of internationalization governance within higher education institutions (HEIs) and the formation of professionals for international management.
Participation
The Capes-Global.Edu Program will be implemented through the publication of calls for proposals, which will define the requirements for granting, selection schedules, fundable items, obligations of the parties involved, and other necessary elements for the execution of the program.
