Objectives
The Program was created in 2005 through the signing of an Agreement between CAPES and the Directorate for Learning and Research (DGER) at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of France, aiming to:
Support partnership projects between universities in the fields of Agronomy and Agrifood Sciences, Veterinary Medicine and correlate areas, exclusively at graduation level, to nurture the exchange in both countries and stimulate the approximation of curricular structures, including the equivalence and mutual recognition of credits gained at participating institutions.
Between its launching in 2005 and 2020, the BRAFAGRI Program had 7 open calls and selected 52 projects, which allowed university partnerships between approximately 26 Higher Education Institutions in France and Brazil at the graduation level.
Between 2011 and 2016, the Program also supported the visit of French students to pursue part of their graduation studies in Brazilian Higher Education Institutions. In total, the BRAFAGRI Program has offered financial support to the studies of 1.006 Brazilian students in French institutions, and 402 French students in Brazilian institutions.
