The Program
The CAPES/DAFDT Program (Global Affairs Canada) aims at selecting joint research projects between Brazil and Canada in all areas of knowledge, encouraging research and the training of high level human resources through scientific exchanges and academic mobility between Higher Studies Institutions (IES) and equivalent research institutions in Canada.
In Brazil the Brazilian Federal Agency for Support and Evaluation of Graduate Education – CAPES is responsable for the Program. In Canada, the institution responsible is the Global Affairs Canada (former DFATD),
Type of Program
Joint Research Project
Objectives:
I. To strengthen the cooperation between Higher Studies Institutions and/or Research Institutions in Brazil and Canada
II. To encourage the scientific exchanges between Brazilian and Canadian scientific and development research teams
III. To encourage mobility among professors and students in post-graduate programs in doctorate level
IV. To promote projects of transference and absorption of knowledge in a critical perspective aiming at innovation
V. To encourage the creation of research networks
Working Mission:
Concession of short-term trips to coordinators of projects and/or team members with Doctorate title, in periods ranging from 7 (seven) to 20 (twenty) days
