The first PIBID Public Call was published in 2007; and in 2023, its 13th edition was celebrated. Initially, PIBID prioritized areas such as Physics, Chemistry, Math and Biology at high school level. Later, following the initial positive results, the Program expanded to cover all levels of basic education, including education for youth and the elderly, native Brazilians, rural areas, and the quilombola population. Currently, the establishment of priorities lies in the hands of participating institutions, working collaboratively with the public network, considering the specific regional and local needs of the national territory
