Minister Mauro Vieira to visit Jordan, Palestine, Lebanon, and Saudi Arabia – March 15th to 20th
Beginning on March 15th, Minister Mauro Vieira will visit Amman, in Jordan; Ramallah, in Palestine; Beirut, in Lebanon; and Riyadh, in Saudi Arabia. He will hold meetings with his counterparts in each country.
Brazil's relations with the countries in Middle East are are significantly enhanced by the presence of a significant community of Arab origin in our country, thus contributing to the traditional close and friendly dialogue between Brazil and that region.
During the meetings, Minister Mauro Vieira will review the main topics of Brazil’s bilateral agenda with each country, with emphasis on technical cooperation, trade and investments.
In addition, he will address regional issues of relevance and mutual interest, in particular the conflict and severe humanitarian crisis affecting the Gaza Strip and its population, and prospects for declaring a ceasefire and eventually resuming negotiations on achieving lasting peace in the Middle East.
The Minister will also reaffirm Brazil's commitment to a two-state solution, with Palestine and Israel living side by side in peace and security, within mutually agreed and internationally recognized borders.
