Press accreditation
Media professionals holding permanent credentials issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are exempt from specific accreditation procedures for events organized by the Itamaraty which are open to the press, unless otherwise informed via press release.
Accreditation requirements vary according to the applicant's status:
(1) media professional working for a Brazilian company;
(2) media professional working for a foreign company;
(3) Brazilian media professional working for a foreign company.

Media professional working for a Brazilian company
To obtain a press credential from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the media professional must submit:
1. Media company request on letterhead paper, addressed to the Press Office, as follows:
Assessoria Especial de Comunicação Social
Ministério das Relações Exteriores, Esplanada dos Ministérios - Bloco H, Palácio Itamaraty - Térreo, CEP 70.170-900, Brasília-DF.
2. Accreditation form (available here)
3. two recent 3x4 photos (with name of the applicant on the back of each photograph)
4. Copy of the Identity Card
5. Copy of the Individual Taxpayer´s Register (CPF)
6. Copy of professional registration
In case of accreditation renewal, the expired credential must be returned. In case of replacement of a lost credential, copy of the police report must be presented
Media professional working for a foreign company
The media company must request accreditation for its professional to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on letterhead paper verifying employment relationship with the company overseas and payment of salary, addressed to the Press Office, as follows:

Ministério das Relações Exteriores, Esplanada dos Ministérios - Bloco H, Palácio Itamaraty - Térreo, CEP 70.170-900, Brasília-DF.
In addition to the above mentioned letter, the applicant must submit the following supporting documents:
1. Accreditation form (available here)
2. Two recent 3x4 photos (with applicant name on the back of each photography)
3. List of the dependents or statement verifying that the professional has no dependents
4. Copies of passport pages containing personal information and of the page with the appropriate visa (VITEM V, RN 17/2017 of CNIg)
5. Copy of the Foreign National Registration (RNE) or of its protocol issued by the Federal Police
In case of accreditation renewal, the expired credential must be returned. In case of replacement of a lost credential, copy of the police report must be presented
Brazilian media professional working for a foreign company
In addition to the above mentioned letter, the applicant must submit the following supporting documents:
1. Accreditation form (available here)
2. Two recent 3x4 photos (with applicant name on the back of each photography)
3. Copy of the employment contract
4. Copy of the Identity Card
5. Copy of the Individual Taxpayer´s Register (CPF)
6. Copy of updated proof of registration in the professional council or copy of the Work and Social Security Card (Carteira de Trabalho)
In case of accreditation renewal, the expired credential must be returned. In case of replacement of a lost credential, copy of the police report must be presented.
