Founded in 1987, the Institute for International Relations Research (IPRI) is a body of FUNAG and has the following purposes:
- to develop and disseminate studies and research on issues related to international relations;
- to promote the collection and systematization of documents related to its field of activity;
- to foster scientific exchange with similar institutions in Brazil and abroad;
- to organize courses, lectures, seminars and conferences in the field of international relations.
Through these activities, IPRI works to broaden and deepen channels of dialogue between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the academic community on issues of interest to Brazilian foreign policy.
