Technical Data Package
The technical data package is a collection of public technical data selected by ANP for the Open Acreage under the Concession regime. It consists of regional data from sectors or groups of sectors. Each technical data package group contains one or more sedimentary basins and includes well data, 2D and 3D seismic data, non-seismic data, and studies available at BDEP.
See the links below for maps showing the location of well data and 2D and 3D seismic data included in the data packages of each basin by sector. Other data included in the technical data packages, such as non-seismic data, do not have maps.
Maps of the basins with the location of the data available in the packages:
Payment of access fees for the technical data package is optional, not linked to registration, and does not oblige or restrict bidders’ offers during the public bid session.
The grouping of public technical data packages selected by ANP for the Open Acreage of Concession regime (OPC) can be viewed on eBID.
Procedures for obtaining the technical data package
Access to the OPC technical data package is available only in person at ANP/Urca, located at Av. Pasteur, 404, Block A4, Urca, Rio de Janeiro/RJ.
Access to the data package is optional, and the interested company must:
- fill out the electronic application form, in accordance with Subsection IV.2 of the Tender Protocol;
- provide proof of payment of the access fee to the technical data package (available only in Portuguese) corresponding to the sector or grouping of sectors of interest, in accordance with Subsection V.2 of the Tender Protocol; and
- present a document indicating the sectors for which the technical data package access fee was paid, as per the model in ANNEX IV of the Tender Protocol.
After the request, instructions will be sent for scheduling the in-person collection.
Data collection at ANP/Urca is permitted only after authorization from ANP.
Once scheduled, the company must deliver directly to the Exploration and Production Database (BDEP) a new, sealed external hard disk (HD) for recording the technical data. The team responsible for the technical data package will then record the data and schedule the pickup date for the HD with the data.
The minimum storage capacity of the external hard disk will depend on the size of the data package requested.
Technical data packages may be collected:
a) by an accredited representative;
b) by the legal representative of the bidder who has signed the ANP’s Exploration and Production Database (BDEP) Terms of Use;
c) by a person authorized by the accredited representative or by the legal representative who signed the BDEP Terms of Use. In this case, the authorized person’s name, identification document, and position must be listed in ANNEX IV of the tender protocol.
Free Technical Data
ANP provides technical data free of charge through the REATE and PROMAR programs, available to any interested party following the instructions on the Technical Data Access page (available only in Portuguese).
The REATE Program (Program for the Revitalization of Oil and Natural Gas Exploration and Production Activity in Onshore Areas) is a National Policy that promotes exploration and production activities in onshore areas in Brazil to foster regional development and stimulate national competitiveness. REATE makes available the entire collection of public data for onshore sedimentary basins held in ANP’s database.
In line with REATE’s mission, ANP offers free access to all public technical data related to Brazilian onshore sedimentary basins. This data can be accessed remotely via the eBID website at: https://ebid.anp.gov.br/
The PROMAR Program (Program for Revitalization and Incentive for Production of Offshore Fields) aims to create conditions for revitalizing mature offshore fields and improving the economic viability of marginal oil and natural gas accumulations, also located offshore. PROMAR provides partial public data for offshore sedimentary basins available in ANP’s database.
