The Open Acreage consists of the continuous offer of exploratory blocks and areas located in any onshore or offshore basins, as well as the bidding for fields that have been returned or are in the process of being returned, ANP being responsible to conduct permanent offering for these fields and blocks.
Blocks in the pre-salt area or in strategic areas are subject to specific deliberation by CNPE, which defines the parameters to be adopted for each field or block to be tendered.
Since this is a continuous process, its bidding instruments (tender protocol and contract templates) may undergo changes over time. These changes may result from inclusions, exclusions or adjustments to the blocks available on offer, as well as from improvements to the tender protocol rules and sharing contract templates.
