Open Acreage of Concession: ANP approves new versions of the tender protocol and the concession agreements

On October 17, 2024 the Collegiate Board of the ANP approved the update versions of the tender protocol and the concession agreements for exploratory blocks and areas with marginal accumulations of the Open Acreage of Concession - OPC.

The revision of the documents underwent public consultation and public hearing and is now being evaluated by the TCU, in compliance with TCU Normative Instruction No. 81/2018. The Court has up to 90 days to evaluate the documents. The OPC instruments are scheduled to be published in January 2025.

After the publication of the tender protocol, 404 new frontier exploration blocks will be on offer, 54 onshore and 350 offshore, spread across 12 sedimentary basins. The proposed changes are part of the ANP's ongoing work to improve the OPC, making it more attractive and adapting it to the evolution of the oil and gas sector.
