Agreements for the 5th Cycle of the Open Acreage of Concession Signed
The ceremony for the signing of the agreements for the 5th Cycle of the Open Acreage of Concession (OPC5) was held on December 5, 2025, at the ANP's headquarters in Rio de Janeiro.
In addition to representatives from the companies that acquired blocks in the bidding process, the ceremony was attended by the General Director of ANP, Artur Watt, Agency's Directors Symone Araújo and Pietro Mendes, and the National Secretary of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels of the Ministry of Mines and Energy, Renato Dutra.
The public session of the 5th Cycle was held on June 17, 2025, and registered a record in signature bonuses, considering all previous OPC cycles. The bonus collected, of R$ 989,261,000.96, registered a premium of over 500%.
In total, 34 blocks were acquired by nine companies, located in the following basins: Parecis (onshore); Foz do Amazonas, Santos and Pelotas (offshore). Investments of R$ 1,456,963,000.00 are planned for the first phase of the agreements alone, the exploration phase.
Agreements relating to 33 blocks acquired by eight companies (Chevron, Equinor Brasil, ExxonMobil, Galp, Karoon, Petrobras, Petrochina and Shell) were signed on December 5, 2025. The signing of the agreement relating to block PRC-T-121, acquired by the company Dillianz, will take place by January 30, 2026, as defined by CEL OPC at its 82nd meeting on November 12, 2025.
