ABC welcomes UNEP Regional Director and Representative for Latin America and the Caribbean
On February 26th, the Brazilian Cooperation Agency (ABC) received a courtesy call from the Regional Director and Representative for Latin America and the Caribbean of the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), Mr. Juan Bello, to the Director of ABC, Ambassador Ruy Pereira. 
Among the topics discussed were preparations for the United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP30), which will be held in Belem, the capital city of the State of Para, in Brazil, in November, 2025.
Currently, ABC and UNEP implement four important projects in partnership with the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MMA), and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovations (MCTI), in addition to the National Water Agency (ANA), the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Brazilian Biodiversity Fund (FUNBIO), and the Global Environment Fund (GEF).
These initiatives cover topics such as conservation of Brazilian wetlands (Pantanal), integrated urban planning, management of chemical substances, and transparency in the scope of the Paris Agreement.
