General Coordination for Technical Cooperation and Partnerships with Developed Countries (CGTP)
The General Coordination for Technical Cooperation and Partnerships with Developed Countries (CGTP) is responsible for defining joint-coordination mechanisms and instruments, for coordinating and monitoring technical-cooperation actions, programmes, projects, activities and work plans with governments of developed countries, such as Germany, Canada, Spain, the United States, France, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, among others. The CGTP division also prepares supplementary information for Political Consultations, Joint Committees and other bilateral meetings with governments of developed countries on issues concerning international technical cooperation encountered in all dimensions of partnership, in Brazil and abroad, for local, national and regional development, of Brazilian interest or for the benefit of third countries.
It is the responsibility of the CGTP division to guide public bodies and national institutions, at the municipal, state and federal levels, on the procedures to follow when preparing, processing, approving and implementing technical-cooperation actions, programmes, projects, activities and work plans in partnership with governments from developed countries, and when acting on behalf of ABC to link up other public administration bodies to discuss priorities to be reflected in the technical cooperation programmes of interest to Brazil with the governments of developed countries.\
The traditional technical cooperation programmes coordinated by the CGTP division worthy of mention, are, among others, those developed by Brazil with Japan and Germany, which cover different areas of national interest, such as agriculture, the environment, renewable energies, health, urban development, technical-professional training, and production innovation. The CGTP division carries out technical missions with implementing institutions in Brazil and abroad, takes part in planning, monitoring and evaluation missions, and holds meetings within the scope of the actions, programmes, projects, activities and technical cooperation work plans coordinated by ABC, in partnership with governments of developed countries.
