Visit of the Vice President of Bolivia, David Choquehuanca – Brasília, 11/17/2023
The Vice President of Bolivia, David Choquehuanca, is making a working visit to Brasília today, November 17th, following a stop in the city of São Paulo. In the federal capital, the Bolivian authority is expected to be received by President of the Republic Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, the Vice President, Geraldo Alckmin, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Mauro Vieira, the Minister of Health Nísia Trindade, and the Minister of Indigenous Peoples Sônia Guajajara, in addition to the Chief Advisor Presidency of the Republic, Celso Amorim, among other high-ranking authorities.
In the context of these meetings, relevant topics of the bilateral agenda will be addressed, including energy integration, border infrastructure and cooperation in security and defense, as well as the regional agenda, such as Bolivia's accession to MERCOSUR, Amazonian cooperation and the adoption of the road map for South American integration.
Bolivia is the country sharing the longest land border with Brazil, of more than 3,400 kilometers. Brazil is Bolivia's largest trading partner. In 2022, bilateral trade totaled just over $3.6billion.
