It is being held today, in Brasilia, the Fourth Session of the China-Brazil High-Level Coordination and Cooperation Committee (COSBAN), co-chaired by the Vice President of the Republic, Michel Temer, and by Vice Premier Wang Yang, in charge of economic and financial issues of the State Council of the People's Republic of China.
COSBAN is a mechanism for political dialogue of the highest level between Brazil and China. In its eleven subcommittees (Political; Economic and Trade; Energy and Mining; Agriculture; Inspection and Quarantine; Economic and Financial; Science, Technology and Innovation; Space Cooperation; Industry and Information Technology; Educational; and Cultural) the most relevant themes of the bilateral agenda will be addressed.
The Fourth COSBAN will consider the process of implementation of the measures announced on the previous session (Guangzhou, 2013) as well as the decisions taken during the visits of President Xi Jinping to Brazil, in July 2014, and of Prime Minister Li Keqiang, last May.
Among the points to be discussed at this meeting, issues related to investments in infrastructure and the expansion of productive cooperation; to the bilateral trade of meat products (beef, poultry and pork); to cooperation in the aeronautical industry (selling of EMBRAER aircrafts and the Joint-venture EMBRAER-AVIC, for the production of business jets in China); and the agenda in educational, cultural and science, technology and innovation are included.
