Visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada - June 26-28, 2023
Minister of Foreign Affairs Mauro Vieira will host, on June 27, the Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mélanie Joly, who is visiting Brazil on June 26-28.
At the meeting, the ministers will resume the Brazil-Canada Strategic Partnership Dialogue, which will hold its fourth edition. They will talk about the environment and climate change; trade and investments; human rights and native peoples; regional issues, especially Haiti; and international peace and security.
Canada is Brazil's 12th trading partner. In 2022, bilateral trade exceeded the $ 10 billion mark for the first time, with an expansion of 40.9% in relation to 2021. The two countries have a solid and long-standing investment relationship. Canada is the ninth largest investor in Brazil (2021 data). Brazil is the largest investor from Latin America in Canada, and ranks among the top twenty countries of origin of foreign direct investment.
On the occasion, the Framework Agreement on Defense Cooperation between Brazil and Canada will be signed.
