Visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility of Ecuador, José Valencia, to Brazil – Brasília, August 17, 2018
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility of Ecuador, José Valencia Amores, will make an official visit to Brasília on August 17, 2018, and will co-chair, together with Minister Aloysio Nunes Ferreira, the III Meeting of the Brazil-Ecuador Bilateral Consultation Mechanism. On the same day, Minister Valencia will speak at the Brazilian diplomatic academy, Rio Branco Institute.
The visit of the FM José Valencia Amores reflects the interest of both countries in strengthening cooperation in the most diverse areas of bilateral relations. Over the meeting, the main topics on the bilateral agenda to be discussed include trade and investment; physical integration; technical cooperation; cooperation between diplomatic academies; and cooperation in the field of defense and public security. Regional and global issues will also be addressed.
In 2017, trade between Brazil and Ecuador totaled US$ 968 million, an increase of 21% compared to 2016.
