PRESS RELEASE N. 186
Turkey opens its market for products of animal origin
The Brazilian government welcomed the decision by the Turkish government to authorize the import of inedible gelatin and collagen, egg products and offal for animal feeding.
The simultaneous market opening for three new products reaffirms the international confidence in Brazil's health control system and should contribute to increasing trade flow between the two countries.
Last year, Turkey was the 13th largest destination for Brazilian agricultural exports. In 2023, Brazilian agricultural exports to the Turkish market totaled $2.42 billion, with soy complex, textile products and coffee accounting for a significant share of exports.
With these three new markets, the Brazilian agribusiness sector has reached 34 international market openings this year alone. In the last 16 months, 112 new markets were opened in 50 countries.
This is the result of joint efforts between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA).
