The United States donates 3 million doses of Janssen vaccines
Brazil will receive between tomorrow and this Saturday, 3 million doses of Janssen's COVID-19 vaccine donated directly by the US government.
The first shipment will depart from Fort Lauderdale Airport (Florida) tonight, June 24, and will arrive at Viracopos International Airport, in Campinas, on Friday, June 25, at 9:00 am. The second shipment is scheduled to arrive the following day.
The humanitarian donation was coordinated by the Ministry of Health with the active collaboration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE) through the Brazilian Cooperation Agency (ABC), the Embassy of Brazil in Washington and the Consulate General of Brazil in Miami.
At the request of the Ministry of Health, the Consulate received, on behalf of the Brazilian government, the shipment of vaccines and signed the donation agreement negotiated and approved by the Ministry of Health and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Likewise, the U.S. Embassy in Brasília and the Brazilian National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA) were instrumental in carrying out the operation.
The Brazilian Government renews its recognition and gratitude to the United States Government for this concrete expression of the bonds of friendship and solidarity that link the two countries.
