Visit of the Secretary-General of ALADI to Brazil – Brasília, April 3rd, 2024
The Secretary General of the Latin American Integration Association (ALADI), Sergio Abreu, is on an official visit to Brazil. The main goal of the trip is to strengthen regional cooperation and integration.
During his visit, the Secretary General will be hosted today, April 3, by Minister of Foreign Affairs Mauro Vieira. The Secretary General will also hold meetings with authorities from the Ministry of Planning and Budget, the president of APEX-Brasil and the CEO of SEBRAE-Nacional.
The agenda includes discussions on topics of common interest, such as trade, investments, regional integration and cooperation in strategic areas, as well as digital governance, with a view to fostering open and constructive dialogue on challenges and opportunities of Latin American integration. The issue of trade and gender, which have been gaining increasing prominence, will also be addressed.
Over more than 40 years of operations, ALADI has played an important role in promoting the economic and social development in the region. As one of the Association's largest contributors, Brazil reaffirms its commitment to working in close collaboration with the ALADI General Secretariat and other associated countries to strengthen ties of friendship and cooperation.
