The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Erlan Idrissov, to visit Brazil – Brasília and São Paulo, October 2-3, 2013
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Erlan Idrissov, will visit Brasília on October 2, 2013, when he will be hosted by Minister Luiz Alberto Figueiredo Machado.
The Foreign Ministers will discuss the strengthening of bilateral cooperation in areas such as agriculture, energy and mining, sports, tourism, culture and exchange between their diplomatic academies, as well as ways to enhance and diversify bilateral trade and investment. They will also assess their respective regional scenarios and discuss themes of mutual interest on the international agenda.
The Kazakh Foreign Minister will chair, accompanied by the Brazilian Foreign Minister, the official opening ceremony of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Brasilia, its first embassy in Latin America. On October 3, accompanied by a business delegation, Minister Erlan Idrissov will attend a seminar at FIESP (Federation of Industries of São Paulo).
Bilateral trade grew significantly in the past decade, from US$ 18 million in 2004 to US$ 200 million in 2012.
