PRESS RELEASE N.101
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Business and International Cooperation of Suriname, Albert Ramdin, visits Brazil
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Business and International Cooperation of Suriname, Albert Ramdin, will make a working visit to Brasília on August 13th. This is his first visit to Brazil since taking office as Foreign Minister.
The Surinamese authority will be hosted at Itamaraty by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Carlos Alberto Franco França. The meeting will be the first opportunity for the foreign ministers to discuss, in person, issues on the bilateral, regional and inter-American agendas, including stability and democracy in the region and the upcoming elections to the Inter-American Court of Human Rights.
Noteworthy topics in the relations with Suriname include initiatives related to technical and energy cooperation. This latter field of cooperation has great potential, given Brazil’s experience in this sector and the recent discoveries of oil and gas in Suriname.
