The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Spain, José Manuel García-Margallo, to visit Brazil – Brasilia, Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, May 16-19, 2012
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Spain, José Manuel García-Margallo, will visit Brazil between May 16 and 19. In Brasilia, he will be hosted by the Minister of External Relations, Antonio de Aguiar Patriota.
The Foreign Ministers will go over the main issues on the bilateral agenda, such as trade and investment flows, partnerships in education, science, technology and innovation, consular affairs and trilateral cooperation in behalf of Latin American, Caribbean and African countries.
The Ministers will also address global affairs, such as the economic and financial international scenario, the reform of global governance institutions, the United Nations Conference for Sustainable Development (Rio+20) and the situation in the Middle East and Northern Africa.
With an investment portfolio in Brazil that exceeds US$ 85 billion, Spain in the second largest investor in the country. In 2011, the trade volume between the two countries was recorded at US$ 7.97 billion, a 20% increase over the previous year.
