PRESS RELEASE N. 20
Terrorist attack in Ra’anana, Israel
The Brazilian government has learned, with consternation, about the attacks that caused at least one fatality and injured about two dozen people in the city of Ra’anana, near Tel Aviv, this Monday (January 15).
The Brazilian government expresses condolences to the families of the victims and conveys its solidarity with the people and the government of Israel.
While expressing its condemnation of resorting to violence, especially against civilians, the Brazilian government appeals to Palestinians and Israelis to refrain from acts that escalate tensions and pose the risk of further escalation in the ongoing conflict in the region.
Brazil reiterates its support for a two-state solution, with a economically viable Palestinian state coexisting alongside Israel, in peace and security, within mutually agreed and internationally recognized borders.
