Statement of the Lima Group on regional elections in Venezuela

In view of the several obstacles, acts of intimidation, manipulation and irregularities which marked the elections held in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela on October 15, 2017, which call into question the election results, the governments of Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay and Peru call for an urgent independent audit of the entire electoral process with the presence of specialized and renowned international observers, in order to clarify the controversy surrounding the election results and to shed light on the true decision of the Venezuelan people.
