Situation in Ukraine

The Brazilian Government follows the military operations launched by the Russian Federation against targets in Ukrainian territory with grave concern.

Brazil calls for an immediate suspension of hostilities and the beginning of negotiations conducive to a diplomatic solution to the issue, based on the Minsk agreements and taking into account the legitimate security interests of all parties involved and the protection of the civilian population.

As a member of the United Nations Security Council, Brazil remains engaged in multilateral discussions aimed at a peaceful solution, in line with Brazilian diplomatic tradition and the defense of solutions guided by the United Nations Charter and international law, particularly the principles of non-intervention, sovereignty and territorial integrity of States, and the peaceful settlement of disputes.
