PRESS RELEASE N. 466
Situation in Israel and Palestine. Repatriation of Brazilians.
The "Returning in Peace" Operation has successfully concluded the repatriation of 916 nationals and 24 domestic animals so far. With the completion of a new flight departing from Tel Aviv on Wednesday, 10/18, more than 1,100 Brazilians will have been repatriated.
Many Brazilians have already departed and continue to depart from Israel on commercial flights. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs maintains its guidance, as it has done since the outbreak of the conflict, that all nationals with airline tickets or the means to acquire them should board commercial flights from Ben Gurion Airport, which is still operational.
A group of approximately 30 Brazilians and their direct family members awaiting evacuation from the Gaza Strip remains concentrated in the areas of Khan Younis and Rafah near the Egyptian border. The Brazilian government, through the Representation Office of Brazil in Ramallah, maintains continuous contact with these nationals. Vehicles contracted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are on standby, awaiting the opening of the Rafah crossing.
Brazil continues to make high-level efforts to facilitate the entry of Brazilians and their direct family members into Egypt. An aircraft for their transport to Brazil remains in Rome, awaiting authorization to rescue the Brazilians from the Gaza Strip in Egyptian territory.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has engaged the relevant authorities to ensure reception and support for the Brazilians evacuated from Gaza upon their arrival in Brazil.
The Brazilian government once again advises against any non-essential travel to the region.
Consular duty offices at the Embassy in Tel Aviv (+972 (54) 803 5858) and the Representation Office in Ramallah (+972 (59) 205 5510), with WhatsApp, remain in operation to assist nationals in emergency situations.
The general consular duty office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs can also be reached by phone at +55 (61) 98260-0610.
