PRESS RELEASE N. 482
Situation in Israel and Palestine. Repatriation of Brazilians
The seventh repatriation flight of Brazilians in Israel, with 69 passengers, landed today, 10/21, shortly before 11 AM in Rio de Janeiro.
The eighth repatriation flight, to be carried out using a KC-30 aircraft departing from Israel, is scheduled to take off on Sunday, 10/22, in the late morning (Brasília time).
Considering the current local conditions and the regular operation of Ben Gurion Airport, no additional flights for Brazilians in Israel are foreseen.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs maintains its guidance, as it has done since the outbreak of the conflict, that all nationals who have airline tickets or the means to acquire them should board commercial flights from Ben Gurion Airport, which continues to operate.
A group of approximately 30 Brazilians and their immediate family members who are waiting for evacuation from the Gaza Strip remain sheltered in the areas of Khan Younis and Rafah, near the border with Egypt. The Brazilian government, through the Representation Office of Brazil in Ramallah, maintains constant contact with the nationals, providing them with information and essential items. Vehicles contracted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are on standby, awaiting authorization for the group to transit through the Rafah terminal, which was opened today, 10/21, for the entry of humanitarian aid.
Brazil continues to make high-level efforts to facilitate the entry of Brazilians into Egypt. An aircraft used by the Presidency of the Republic remains in Cairo, awaiting authorization to rescue the Brazilians from the Gaza Strip.
The Brazilian government once again advises against any non-essential travel to the region.
The consular duty offices at the Embassy in Tel Aviv (+972 (54) 803 5858) and the Brazil Representation Office in Ramallah (+972 (59) 205 5510), with WhatsApp, remain operational to assist nationals in emergency situations.
The general consular duty office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs can also be contacted by phone at +55 (61) 98260-0610.
