The Brazilian government, through the Representation Office of Brazil in Ramallah, remains in contact with approximately 30 Brazilians, mostly women and children, interested in their evacuation from the Gaza Strip.
The group that had been gathered in a school in Gaza, in the northern part of the Strip, moved today, October 14, to Khan Yunis in the south, by bus contracted by the Representation Office in Ramallah, and is currently traveling to the city of Rafah, where they will await the opening of the passage to Egypt. The remaining Brazilians are still in Khan Yunis.
Brazil continues to make high-level efforts to facilitate the entry of Brazilians and their family members into Egypt. The VC-2 aircraft is in Rome and awaits authorization to rescue the Brazilians from the Gaza Strip.
The Brazilian government once again advises against any non-essential travel to the region.
