Settlement of Brazil's debts to international organizations - Joint Note from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Planning and Budget
The Ministries of Foreign Affairs and of Planning and Budget are pleased to inform that, within the 100 days of the Government, approximately R$ 526 million were paid in regard to Brazil's debts with international organizations.
Contributions were paid to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the Latin American Integration Association (ALADI), the MERCOSUR Secretariat and Parliament, the MERCOSUR Fund for Structural Convergence (FOCEM), the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP), the International Organization for Migration (IOM) the World Health Organization (WHO), the International Labor Organization (ILO), the World Trade Organization (WTO), the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), the International Criminal Court (ICC), among other international organizations active in priority areas of Brazilian foreign policy.
The Federal Government is firmly committed to settling Brazil's debts to international organizations, which will contribute to improving the conditions for the full resumption of Brazil's activities in the international sphere. To this end, it will endeavor to ensure the full financial execution of the amounts foreseen in the 2023 Annual Budget Law and of the amounts entered as unpaid debts in the previous year, making it possible for the country to fully pay its debts to these organizations during the current year.
