Political Crisis in Niger

The Brazilian government is closely monitoring the political situation in the Republic of Niger, where an attempted coup against President Mohamed Bazoum's government is reportedly taking place. Brazil joins the African Union and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) in calling for the full restoration of democratic institutions in the country.
