Passing of the President of Chad, Idriss Déby Itno

It was with great sadness that the Brazilian government learned of the battlefield death of Marshal Idriss Déby Itno, President of the Republic of Chad.

During his government, President Idriss Déby made a major contribution to the stability of the Sahel and the Lake Chad region.

Brazil conveys its most sincere condolences to Chad’s First Lady, Hinda Déby Itno, to the entire family of President Déby, and to the government and people of Chad.
