Official Visit to Brasil of the President of Bulgaria, Rosen Plevneliev – Brasilia and Sao Paulo, February 1 to 3, 2016

The President of Bulgaria, Rosen Plevneliev, will make an official visit to Brazil between February 1 and 3, with agenda in Brasilia and São Paulo. It is the first official bilateral visit of the Bulgarian President to Brasil, who has been to Rio de Janeiro in 2012, to participate in the Rio+20 Conference.
On February 1, in Brasilia, the Bulgarian President will be received by President Dilma Rousseff. The main themes on the bilateral agenda will be discussed in the meeting, with emphasis on trade and investments; science and technology and education, besides issues on the global agenda. On the following day, President Plevneliev will chair a business round between Brazilian and Bulgarian businessmen on the headquarters of the National Confederation of Industry.
On the occasion of the visit, the Agreement on Social Security and the Memorandum of Understanding between the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) and the Ministry of Education and Science of Bulgaria will be signed.
In São Paulo, the Bulgarian President will be received by Governor Geraldo Alckmin. He will attend a business event at the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo and will meet the Bulgarian community residing in the city.
Brazil and Bulgaria established diplomatic relations in 1934. In 2015, the bilateral trade flow reached US$ 161 million, with a surplus of US$ 74,81 million to Brazil.
