PRESS RELEASE N. 32
New extraordinary commercial flight between Portugal and Brazil
In an effort to facilitate the return to Brazil of Brazilian nationals who faced difficulties due to the temporary suspension of the air route between Portugal and Brazil, a new extraordinary commercial flight operated by Azul Airlines bound for Viracopos airport, in Campinas, is scheduled for March 30, 2021.
Similar to the previous four flights (three operated by TAP and one operated by Latam), which transported 733 Brazilian citizens back to Brazil, and two additional Latam flights scheduled for March 25 and 27, the flight operated by Azul is a private operation. Those interested in the March 30 flight should contact Azul directly regarding the booking or the reuse of airline tickets. Taking into account the state of emergency and the restrictions in force in Portugal, only passengers with tickets confirmed by Azul will be allowed access to the airport.
By the end of March, seven flights from Portugal to Brazil will have been operated, despite air traffic bans and the worsening of the pandemic.
Brazil’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs through its Embassy in Lisbon and its Consulates in Lisbon, Porto, and Faro will continue to provide all appropriate support to Brazilian nationals in Portugal.
