Minister Antonio de Aguiar Patriota to visit Guinea-Bissau – Bissau, 20 July 2011
Minister Antonio de Aguiar Patriota will make an official visit to Guinea-Bissau on 20 July 2011.
During the visit, he will hold a working meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Adelino Mano Queta, and will be received by the acting President of Guinea-Bissau, Raimundo Pereira, and by the Prime Minister, Carlos Gomes Júnior. During the meetings, issues in the bilateral agenda will be discussed, with special attention to cooperation on education, health, professional training and agriculture, as well as the restructuring of the security and defense areas of Guinea-Bissau.
Brazil has headed the Guinea-Bissau Configuration of the United Nations Peacebuilding Commission since December 2007.
The resident Embassy of Guinea-Bissau in Brasília was opened in April 2011, with the support of a CPLP project aimed at ensuring the necessary conditions for the establishment of diplomatic representations of the member States in all capitals of the Community.
