The Meeting of Directors for Indian Affairs of the State Parties to the Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization - ACTO, an event supported by the National Indian Foundation (FUNAI), is being held on 13 and 14 April, at the Carlton Hotel, in Brasília.
In compliance with the ACTO Strategic Partnership, approved at the Amazon Foreign Ministers Meeting, in November 2010, the officials in charge of Indian affairs in the region will debate public policies to protect indigenous peoples in the Amazon region, where 98% of the Brazilian indigenous lands are located.

Comprising Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guiana, Peru, Suriname and Venezuela, the organization’s main mandate is to promote sustainable development in the Amazon region.
