Passage of hurricane Otis over Mexican state of Guerrero

The Brazilian government has learned with great concern that hurricane Otis passed over the Mexican state of Guerrero, damaging in particular the region of Acapulco. The weather phenomenon caused human losses, and material and environmental damage.

The Brazilian government expresses its solidarity with the families of the victims and its heartfelt condolences to the people and the government of Mexico.

At least six Brazilian nationals were in Acapulco at the time of the hurricane’s arrival. Up to the moment, there is no record of Brazilians among the victims. The helpline of the Embassy of Brazil in Mexico (+52 55 3455 3991, including Whatsapp) is available for Brazilian citizens in need of emergency assistance.
