Mine collapse in Venezuela

The Brazilian government was deeply saddened to learn of the collapse of a gold mine in the Venezuelan locality of La Paragua, in the state of Bolívar, which resulted in at least 16 deaths and more than ten injured.

The Brazilian government expresses its solidarity with the government and the people of Venezuela for the human and material losses  and extends its sincere condolences to the families of the victims.

The Embassy of Brazil in Caracas is monitoring the situation. Until now, no Brazilian victims have been identified.
