Gaza hospital bombing
The Brazilian government vehemently condemns the bombing of Ahli-Arab hospital in the Gaza Strip last night, which killed hundreds of people. It also expresses its condolences to the families of the victims and its solidarity with the people of Palestine.
Brazil rejects in the strongest terms any attacks targeting civilians, in particular healthcare infrastructures, and urges all parties to the conflict to fulfill their commitments to international humanitarian law.
Brazil reaffirms its call for an immediate establishment of humanitarian corridors and pauses to allow the safe passage of humanitarian personnel and delivery of water, food, medical supplies, fuel and electricity into Gaza.
Brazil also urges that the Red Cross International Committe be given access to hostages so that it can fulfill its role as a neutral humanitarian actor, and reaffirms its call for the release of hostages.
