PRESS RELEASE N. 101
El Salvador opens its market for gelatin and collagen exports
The Brazilian government was pleased to learn of the announcement by the government of El Salvador of a sanitary approval authorizing Brazil to export gelatin and collagen derived from skins of bovine, porcine and other ruminant animals to that country.
This opening should contribute to increasing trade flow between the two countries and is another demonstration of international confidence in Brazil's sanitary control system.
Agricultural exports to El Salvador totaled nearly $137 million in 2023 and consisted largely of cereals and forest products. In January of this year alone, agricultural exports to El Salvador reached more than $9 million.
With this announcement, Brazilian agribusiness achieved its 18th market opening in 13 countries this year.
