Dialogue with the G20 Engagement Groups
The ‘Dialogue with the G20 Engagement Groups’ seminar was held on June 19 at Itamaraty Palace. The event was attended by members of the government and representatives of Brazilian civil society taking part in the G20 engagement groups: Business 20 (entrepreneurs), Civil 20 (civil society), Science 20 (sciences), Think 20 (think tanks), Women 20 (women), Youth 20 (youth) an the G20 Young Entrepreneurs Alliance (young entrepreneurs).
The event offered an opportunity for a dialogue on several themes of the G20 agenda and constitutes a further step in the democratization and transparency effort of the Brazilian foreign policy.
The 20 is a forum for international cooperation on economic and financial issues and is made up of developed and developing countries with greater projection on the global economy. Since the 2008 financial crisis, the group has addressed several economic and social issues including trade and investment, digital economy, energy, employment, health, education, climate change, fight against corruption and other themes of the 2030 agenda for the sustainable development.
