Death of the President of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, Malam Bacai Sanhá

The Brazilian Government deeply regrets the passing of the President of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, Malam Bacai Sanhá, on the morning of 9 January.

In this time of suffering and loss, the Brazilian Government wishes to convey its heartfelt condolences to the family of the President, as well as to the Bissau-Guinean Government and people, and to reiterate its solidarity and willingness to carry on the cooperation efforts toward the consolidation of peace in Guinea-Bissau.
